Senior Leadership Team
Gavin Clark
Founder & CEO
Gavin founded Remote in 2004 when he saw an opportunity to provide great quality, off-site AV support for Pharmaceutical and Healthcare events, his approach being partnership, not service provider. Gavin worked directly with clients and organisers to understand the key objectives of a project, define the technical requirements and make sure events are delivered without a hitch. This ethos then became the foundation for Remote and continues to be one of the core values.
Before starting Remote Solutions Gavin worked in house at Pfizer, originally taking an IT role providing high speed secure data links for remote working. He later moved to an AV technical position, where he extended his skill set further and gained the experience he needed to branch out on his own.
Initially, Remote solely serviced Pfizer with Audio Visual and Technological requirements and with positive word of mouth and recommendations the company quickly spread to other similar clients.
Motivation
Customer satisfaction is Gavin’s motivation. For Gavin there’s nothing more enjoyable than when he receives glowing feedback not only about the company itself, but his amazing team that makes everything happen.
Random Fact
He survived a parachute failure on his first tandem skydive! Fortunately, Gavin’s instructor (whom he was attached to) had everything in hand, and he was blissfully unaware until they came down to earth with quite a bump. He mainly felt sorry for his sister, who was about to jump next as she had to watch it all unfold beneath her!
Joe Barie
Director US Operations
Joe is Operations Director for all US lead events and responsible for the effective and successful delivery and management of labor, logistics, production, quality control, accounting and safety measures. Joe’s leading philosophy is to provide every client with services that leave them beyond satisfied. By doing so, he also ensures a happy and well-trained team.
Prior to Remote Solutions, Joe worked as Director of Conference Services for Heritage Conference Center, Southbury CT. He was Director of Audio Visual at PSAV, San Francisco, CA and Senior Producer at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Groton, CT, where he met Gavin.
Motivation
The success of a flawless event and a happy customer. It is in his blood!
Random fact
Joe collects vintage comic books and a love for Disney. It keeps him young at heart!
Ashley Smith
Global Operations Director
Alongside Gavin and Joe, Ashley is responsible for the growth of the company. Day to day he can be found nurturing new business leads, developing new systems and processes, enhancing and improving the company brand and marketing and finding great new talent. Working closely with the UK and US teams, Ashley makes sure everything gels together and continues to push Remote to deliver beyond expectations.
Before joining Remote, he co-founded the multi award-winning entertainment agency Euphonica. Working on events with many of the world’s most prestigious corporations, cultural institutions and household names: Tate, The V&A, Chiswick House and Somerset House amongst others.
Motivation
Outstanding experience for all – clients and team. And to push the team to constantly strive to improve.

Ashley used to play guitar in a hip-hop group from Tunbridge Wells.
UK Based Team
Georgia Lycett
Office Co-ordinator
Have an enquiry? Drop Georgia a message.
As well as the usual office duties, Georgia is the first port of call for all new event enquiries and handles all requests or queries until your personal Technical Producer is assigned. Thereafter she will always be happy to help should you need her.
Before joining Remote, she worked in several different sectors ranging from administration to managerial positions.

Seeing her colleagues flourish and our clients appeased.

She has a signed picture of Dick Van Dyke on her desk instead of family/partner pictures!
Paul Meheux
Production Manager
As Production Manager, Paul oversees the planning and logistical organisation of Remote events all over the world ensuring the technical and events teams are fully prepared. He frequently takes the lead production role on site, co-ordinating efficiently between teams and managing integration to deliver a seamless service.
Before joining Remote, Paul’s experience took him around the world giving him a wide experience of other cultures and sectors which is endlessly useful to our production team.

He played drums for 5 years in a small punk band!
Jeremy Dabbs
Senior Technician
Jeremy and the UK based technical team are tasked with the preparation, co-ordination, set up and operation of our AV equipment. Jeremy has detail driven technical know-how and delivers top results at every event.
Jeremy brings with him over 11 years of event experience in audio, lighting and video. His previous roles have seen him working throughout the world with a focus on live and sporting events. Jeremy has also held senior roles at Princess Cruises, a five-star resort in Spain and The Dorchester hotel on London’s famous Park Lane.

To get the job done no matter what!

He had visited 50 countries by the time he was 30!
Josh Chinnery
Technician
Josh joined the team in April 2018, gaining valuable work experience alongside his studies. Having impressed the senior management team, Josh was approached in August and offered the role of technician with a focus on video technology. Since then the role has seen him travel all around the world operating equipment at our events. In his spare time, Josh produces video content for up-and-coming artists and is an aspiring DJ.
Motivation
To be a world-class video and lighting designer with touring artists.

Josh is a world-class ‘flosser’!
Andy Cook
Operations Co-ordinator
Andy develops, maintains, tests and implements the growing number of support systems running the Remote operations. Andy is an integral part of the UK / US communication and integration. A man of many talents, he regularly gets involved with the event preparation and can be found on-site too!
Having started his AV Career with a degree in lighting control, he worked through the ranks from AV crew, production technician, and warehouse manager.

Coming up with creative ideas to improve something!
Random Fact
If he ever makes it to Bali, he says he will probably never leave.

US Based Team
Kathy Sweeny
Senior Producer
As Senior Production Manager, Kathy acts as client liaison and project team manager. Kathy works with the client to provide recommendations and solutions based on event needs, then works out how to deliver it on time and budget. From planning rooms, to co-ordinating teams and being on site for support, Kathy’s efficiency delivers compelling results.
A rich experience from planning to production, Kathy has a wealth of valuable knowledge. Her past roles have included; Sr. Video Producer, Lighting Operator and Technical Directing where she worked with the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Pfizer and Bank of America.

Gaining the trust of someone who puts their faith in you.
Random Fact
Whilst living on St. Thomas, USVI she overcame two CAT 5 hurricanes (Irma and Maria, Sept. 2017) She also runs her own volunteer 501c(3) dog rescue organization.
Britt Grindal
Director of US Hotel Operations
Britt directs our US hotel operations. Collaborating with the hotel events teams and client representatives, Britt produces proposals and manages relations. Once the contracts are confirmed he puts together the best team to deliver the event. He oversees the setup and breakdown AV equipment on site, maintaining the highest standards for all our events.
Britt has 25 years experience in the AV industry including AV hotel operations, AV technician and AV producer, making her the perfect person to have around to make sure events run smoothly, whatever the occasion.
Motivation
Hard work and professionalism.
Random Fact
When Brit isn’t at Remote, he can be found riding his motorcycle or boating around the nearby Mystic Marina!
Eric Woodcox
Producer
Eric is instrumental throughout all stages of the event production process; from planning through to strike. His rigorous approach to organisation, preparation and team management is complimented by a genuine desire to build strong client relations. He is proficient in audio and video requirements for meetings, conferences and large-scale events.
Before joining Remote, Eric worked with Joe at Mystic Image Group where he joined as a Technician having completed his degree at college. Other past experiences include being a key stake holder and manager of other businesses, gives him a first-hand knowledge of the responsibility felt by many of our clients.

To build a positive team atmosphere and continue to learn new things every day!

Eric was an NCAA volleyball player for 2 years at Albertus Magnus College.
